The following are the list of ideas developed from our Afghan Hindu Community. The information was collected from personal experience and conversation with various elder people from the community.
Generally, Jawain, Soifa, cardimon are good to have in day to day basis to avoid digestive problems.
|Cold||Karaa||You may purchase Karaa flower & leaves from Indian store. Boil it water and drink it like a hot tea.|
|Cough||Roasted Jawain||Take some Jawain and roast it on top of ‘tava’ or a pan. and take it with salty black hot tea.|
|Gas||Jawain||Just take a little of jawain. You may drink water, if you wish.|
|General Weakness||Tukh Merian||Wash the water very carefully. Drink in water or milk. You may add Ruh Afza sherbet or sugar.|
|Headaches||Bedana||Crush couple of quince seeds. Boil in water or drink in cold water|
|General weakness (heat)||Ishkampara||Add some to cold water and leave it overnight. Drink it the next morning|
|Digestive Problems||Sheema||Grind jawain, soifa, misry, cardimon into fine powder. Add into water just prior to giving.|
|Cold||Gul Benosha||Add a few flowers to the water and boil for a few minutes|
|Gas, Cough||Jawain||Roast Jawain and then grind into a powder|
|Gas, general digestive problems||Sheema||Grind jawain, soifa, misry, cardimon into fine powder. Add into water just prior to giving.
|Kawa||Boil rose leaves (gulab), black gira, misry, big cardimon, white gira, orange peel, lachi in water for several minutes. Sieve and the liquid.|
|Bartang||Add in cold water.|
|Roasted bartang||Heat sugar. Add water when it turns brown. Add bartang.|
|Khak Sheer||Wash it. Add misry. Leave it covered under stars. Drink it the next morining. Repeat twice more.|
